Friends, we all have them and we all need them.
What makes a good friend though?
The one thing I have learned over the years is that … “you find out who your friends are when the chips are down, or the shit hits the fan” … as they say.
Now we all have a new set of ”friends” with the internet, those we know only online via forums, blogs, network sites etc.
Are they less of a friend just because we only know them online?
I don’t think so, in fact I have met some great people online who I would call friends, a few of them I have met offline since and I would say they are friends but in a different way then those I grew up with.
Not less of a friend though, nor more, just a different friend with similar interest to mine.
After all, most my offline friends I grew up with don’t have the same interest as my, they either hate computers, or have yet to bother with them.
I don’t think it will long before most of my offline friends will get online more, using the internet for online shopping and such.
What do you feel makes a good friend?
