Hello Pete.

I agree with you there Pete, ebooks will grow a huge way I think for the masses and sooner than later with mainstream media already advertising the readers as you know with the nibtendo DS, also the others like the sony, kindle, etc will also become more known and then popular.

Hopefully they will make the format like the pdf's we already know and use online, a standard cross platform format would be great just for sheer ease of use and readibilty.

It is a good shift but real books will always be the real "want" for most of us older generation.

Nothng like a good book. :o)
Real books will increase in value over time no doubt.

When we have people like Stephen King creating horror ebooks it's time for everyone to start reading them and wanting them in ebook format. :o)

Doing this is doing two great things, using less paper so cutting down in a "green" way and creating a broader market share for the whole market which means more opportunity for the striving authors to have a shot at being a success.

With the lower "hurdles" to now overcome, by way of cheaper easier methods to create your "novel" (or other) and get it "out there" in the hope you attract fans, it is very possible to see people "having a go" and taking that chance.

It opens millions of opportunities for millions of people to create.

The market will decide who are the winners.

I read somewhere interesting that you really only need say "1000 true fans" to be a success.

Maybe that poem book, childrens storybook, the family recipe book, local area history book etc you (anyone reading) may have thought of creating might just attract that 1000 true fans.

1000 true fans who will buy whatever your create.
Then spread the word about what you create.

The cost of creating that product was minimal, delivery was instant and effortless, the gratification of the fans is immediate and tangible. ;o)

So...whatcha gonna write? :o)

Thanks for the comments Pete.

And the food for thought!

Rob

Hello Pete.

I agree with you there Pete, ebooks will grow a huge way I think for the masses and sooner than later with mainstream media already advertising the readers as you know with the nibtendo DS, also the others like the sony, kindle, etc will also become more known and then popular.

Hopefully they will make the format like the pdf’s we already know and use online, a standard cross platform format would be great just for sheer ease of use and readibilty.

It is a good shift but real books will always be the real “want” for most of us older generation.

Nothng like a good book. )
Real books will increase in value over time no doubt.

When we have people like Stephen King creating horror ebooks it’s time for everyone to start reading them and wanting them in ebook format. )

Doing this is doing two great things, using less paper so cutting down in a “green” way and creating a broader market share for the whole market which means more opportunity for the striving authors to have a shot at being a success.

With the lower “hurdles” to now overcome, by way of cheaper easier methods to create your “novel” (or other) and get it “out there” in the hope you attract fans, it is very possible to see people “having a go” and taking that chance.

It opens millions of opportunities for millions of people to create.

The market will decide who are the winners.

I read somewhere interesting that you really only need say “1000 true fans” to be a success.

Maybe that poem book, childrens storybook, the family recipe book, local area history book etc you (anyone reading) may have thought of creating might just attract that 1000 true fans.

1000 true fans who will buy whatever your create.
Then spread the word about what you create.

The cost of creating that product was minimal, delivery was instant and effortless, the gratification of the fans is immediate and tangible. ;o)

So…whatcha gonna write? )

Thanks for the comments Pete.

And the food for thought!
