I gotta ask, are some of the A-listers and gurus getting a bit to big for their boots?
I see Brian Clark being a bully in comments on post that he doesn’t like, regardless of whether that post is fair, which it looks to be from where I am sitting, then again, it’s not the first time it’s happened, I have seen this bullying crap on a few places…by a few of these big shots!
Someone to listen to?
Someone to learn from?
Well it’s one way of learning how not to do things, considering he thinks of himself as some big shot he is slow with the “damage limitation”… in fact he just reinforces the bad publicity he is getting, thing is, you rip people off and you get found out eventually.
Crazy, I remember when he started that copy blog and he was just some unknown (to me and many others) in the blogging circles, he built up a good following with that pretty fast too but something changed along the way.
Greed!
It kicks in, changes things, changes the dynamic.
Makes them look down on the people who elevated them…sadly!
Then they start up crap in order to squeeze as much money as possible for as little as possible, that third tribe crap was a good example, selling essentially subscriptions to an empty place with one “seminar” from one of their “inside buddies” and the premise of a great community to build… um, which the the suckers build after paying to get “in” with the crowd.
Wow, yeah, that’s what I thought!
Granted that tribe may be a good place now, but at a guess, it’s just a condensed all-in-one place that’s a version of these A-listers blogs content and a forum, and the fact you are “in with them” is part of their “service”.
I used Brian in this post because this is a good example of what I have seen several times and it’s lame, he has bashed on another blogs comments because someone said the “headway” theme was better than thesis one, (maybe it WAS for them) the point is you can’t go bashing everyone who doesn’t like your product the best, everyone is different and you can never please all of the people, so why expect to?
It is so obvious, because more of the cronies come and jump on the bullying and bashing and it gets noticed more.
The irony is not lost on me, the fact the bashing and activity actually helps say Lissie who’s blog above was commented on, rank better for that very post giving the honest review, you know that one you go shooting your mouth of to cos it don’t flatter your crap, where you make threats, saying you “can take everything away from them”… typical bully, as we say here, what a pillock!!
Instead of bashing, convincing them why it’s better and utilising feedback is a better way to go, surely?
You may think, hang on “you are bashing Brian”… no, I am bashing the bullying that happens.
Avoid reviews that don’t always praise your stiff by providing the best in the first place… simple really!

Brother I here you on this and I left Lis a comment on that post.
It’s as if they forget where they came from I hate it, I’ve written a post about this too but haven’t published it yet. I’m thinking of putting it out to another site because I don’t want people to focus on a negative but I think it needs to be read.
It’s crazy that he said she was a fool leading a bunch of fools and THEN cancelled her subscription.
I’ve said it before brother when I’m on the same stage as these guys I’m gonna have some home truths for them brother

Yeah mate HE is the fool, leading fools…
He has done more damage than anything to his own reputation with that stupid reaction, but he is a bully because I have seen it several times on several blogs comments.
I’ll take Lis’s word over his ANY-DAY, the way Lis handled it say’s alot compared to that idiot.
I’ll bet Brian regrets it now!

Wow! All I can say is wow. That is one of the more arrogant, dismissive comments I’ve ever seen on a blog. Talk about a way to make people hate you.
Anyway, it’s cool to see you calling him out. He’s an idiot.

Aye Steve,
You are right there, what an asshole eh…
Talk about unable to handle feedback and act graciously with it.
I’ll bet that hurts his biz no end, hope so!

I only have one regret over the whole affair – I used to count Darren Rowse in the same breath as Clark – I don’t anymore – Darren is actually a pretty reasonable guy in both email and comments – I don’t totally agree with his business model at Third Tribe Marketing – but at least he didn’t come across threatening and arrogant – we had a debate – I’ll debate or day (and night) long – love a good arguement – but I can’t stand bullies and if it shows – so be it!

Oh yeah Darren is a very nice bloke and VERY helpful if needing help, got nothing against him at all, won’t say anything bad about him as a person.
Think he probably knows that third tribe could have been done better.
He didn’t need it anyway.

Hey Rob, I think youve made a good point and I have seen this before on a few occasions…I often think it may be due to a bit of a power trip the “A Listers” get on…either ways, its uncalled for.

Hi Rach,
Thanks for that comment, yeah, you’re right there, not arguing with that at all.
It is like some power trip, if they can’t handle it though, get off it

Just catching up on all this hoopla… thanks for having the guts to speak your mind.
Lincoln used to have a technique for blowing off steam without making a fool of himself. He would write a letter to the person he was mad at, then put it in a drawer. Most times, he would feel better and never mail the letter.
Makes me think handwritten letters might be a better way to process our negative emotions. Blog comments and social media are just too easy.
