I’ll get onto the rest of the story I spoke of the last couple of post, but needed a break from that for a day, else my brain fries! 😉
The above was taken with a friends phone, I just had to take it after seeing the bike propped like that down Church ope.
I wish I had the phone I have now back then, I can see so many times I missed a good picture opportunity, due to old phone not being able to take a decent pic, so much rust out there, for some peoples rust fix 😉 … so much beauty, a camera opens your eyes to the beauty all round.
Plus I would have some more images of the bike and these great backdrops. Pictures of fun memories made which I could keep for myself too… some good laughs and bonkers moments, can’t beat a bike ride, get to odd places on a bike and it can be a whole new experience of the places we live at. 😉
So a little break from the latest post done… and what do I have for you?
Well, what better than a poem? 😉
Childhood memories we made,
on this island we could do as we liked,
on those oh so long hot summer days,
play football or get out on our bikes,
whatever we did we did it with a smile,
what a place we had as a playground,
days like that we could relive all the while,
never was a sad face to be found,
school was done and working lives begun,
now we had to grow up and get serious,
nights out as adults were too much fun,
the workies and regal was our domain,
drinking till we were all delirious,
if only we could do it all over again!
Many of us relate to that eh. 😉
Some good days and nights were those in late 80’s. Sadly neither the workies or the regal stands any more. Replaced by homes now, but the memories no one can take away from you.
If anyone has pictures of either building, and it’s ok I could share them on this post and credit you of course, with a link to your site, profile, or just a name. 😉
Shame we didn’t all have cameras on us all the time way back then…. imagine. 😆 them haircuts…perms and mullets everywhere! ha … maybe it’s a good thing we didn’t!! 😉
