I have that same argument with my dogs on a daily basis. The difference is, they have food in their bowl. They have just picked out their favorite pieces and are waiting for me to add more food so they can pick out more favorite pieces. Kinda reminds me of picking the marshmellows out of the Lucky Charms.
When I eat, I leave pieces of my crunchy food scattered all around the bowl. That way, I always have a snack for later!
