If you can't yet see the bridge, you can't cross it

Someone asked in a forum when he should attempt to make money online by monetising his blog as he has now built up to an average of 50 readers a day, no mean feat for a 6 week old blog and being the first one they have created.

I was amazed at the forum "newbies" giving what is basically a bad version of simple advice much of which is just something they read on the forum earlier by someone else who has more experience of the truth, but they explained it all in more detail and it was more relevant to the thread the "newbies" originally read the advice in.

How can you know how to cross that bridge if you have yet to even see the bridge yourself?

Those spouting bad half-advice should take a step back and see what they are doing and how it looks to others on the forum, it makes you look naive...new.

Saying "slap adsense on it and you will easily make money online" when they have only 50 visits a day is just plain ridiculous.

Yes googles adsense is the worlds biggest advertising model and it is worth using of course but...

With adsense you will need the one thing it relies on to make it worthwhile and that is big traffic, you know something like 500 hits a day minimum to even start thinking about it being a decent earner...OR very targeted traffic.

The key thing really is to have mainly that ONE monetisation method on your blog for best results with adsense, not mix it up too much with affiliate stuff or banners, this will only hurt the revenue itself by giving you the lower paying ads.

Makes sense doesn't it?
After all why would google put the better ads on the lower traffic sites or blogs?
The advertisers wouldn't be happy either.

Way better to wait until you have enough traffic to make it worth your while, a lesson I only recently realised, partly due to the same bad misinformation and the lack of really testing it for myself, which I have now done a bit more of and found some really nice results I can act on in a bigger way.

So if not adsense now what should you do with a low traffic count like the mentioned example?

If you only have 50 or so visits a day, best to just spend more effort getting more traffic while continuing to post on a regular basis.

So how to best do that is the next question I would assume they would ask, that really depends on the blogs content, the market and where the people they needed to reach are.

That's the bridge you need to cross, not the make money online one.

Don't you agree?

Viral list building

Elsewhere on this blog I have already mentioned Scott Boulch, the author of "The death of adsense" and the "autospy" report.

Scott even tells you how he used this very viral list builder to build an incredible list of 40,000 in next to no time.
Proof it worked, and worked well.

It seems something has really pissed him off for now he is GIVING it away, from the email he sent out it loooks as though the "gurus" have attempted to copy what he did.

Well... I don't know the ins and outs of that but I do know this works due to watching it work myself when the reports came out.

I have grabbed it myself and plan to utilise it.

Get your one by clicking the box below....

The basic idea itself has been around a while but this has a different twist to it.

What do you think about this?

Raisng my vibration...LOA!

Interesting things happening lately, and I left it late in the day to blog, but here goes...
As I mentioned in the last post we had a chance to watch the secret.

I watched it again last night just before I slept, which I hoped I could keep it all fresh in my thoughts as a fell asleep with a possibilty of influencing my dreams.

One thought was that a guy in the secret said he kept getting bills so started to visualise getting cheques in the mail.

Well i thought "hey thats pretty cool an idea" so did think of it as I fell asleep.

Well got up today, to see two letters on the floor, it never once crossed my mind for it to be yet another bloody bill.. so I opened them.

Wow.. that was fast.. my FIRST google adsense cheque... :o)

The FIRST thing I said was "thank you".

It was great to have that in my hand and say "hey just maybe this shit works a bit."

The lesson and thoughts I got from this whole experience was great.

If you have had one you will relate to my next thought.
I have to say it was a little shocking to see it was so plain.. you know what I am saying.

Don't get me wrong, I was chuffed to finaly see a result like that but wow, did google miss a great marketing trick there? A motivational trick?

I mean the cheque is on a very plain invoice with a green backround... yet NO big "google" logo.

I would love to have seen that as it would RAISE your vibration further, just by the visual element.
I would have asked for the plain bit back at the bank and framed the bloody thing !

Am I the only one to think that?

Interesting Adsense rule

Looking around the regular blogs I visit I noticed an interesting adense rule posted by Neil Shearing.

A permanent ban on your site but NOT your account?

Seems a good move and levels the playing field up some while lessening their own work load, so giving the lesser of us, traffic wise, a better chance to test and track while pushing the boundries a little further on each test without the fear of shooting yourself in the foot.

But again the ban would be permanent..so once you push it too far AND get noticed. its too late.

As Neil says once the traffic starts to creep up, tidy up your tactics and stay INSIDE the rules.

Not that I am saying use blackhat style methods.. just test a little more than you would on what you ALREADY test on, add new twist to learn new things.

Bad targetted ads

Well what in the world happened there?

In the last post I shared a great video, a moving video.
If you have yet to see it... go take a look..

One man...one board, a nice heart.

Thanks to a sharp eyed reader, (thanks Michelle) who points out that one of the google ads above it had shown a sexual abuse ad?!
How the hell does THAT happen?

From what word does google get the relevance from?
Hug?

Is that unbelievable or what, even a bit disturbing?

How do they get that from such an innocent word and post?
Beyond me... but it is not something I want on my blog.

Why do google even allow ads like that to show?

Any idea?
