Magical moments and why I want to make money online

This is why I strive to make money online, so I can travel and capture magic moments I live, luckily I do live in a gorgeous place that allows me to share moments like this with you.

A magic moment above wouldn't you agree? :o)

Isn't that what life's about, having magical moments?

This is where I live so it cost nothing to enjoy this and share it, yet for you it may cost money to come here and have the same. Likewise with me having to pay to experience it elsewhere.

Regardless ...

The best things in life are free ... there is so much emphasis on the money and not what magic it can give you, if you choose it that is. ;o)

A friend had just been to America on a road trip from west to east and shared some stunning pictures on his facebook page, that's what I would like to do, get out there and capture the moments, post them here or another specific blog for that and do that constantly.

You can't do that with a "job" unless that IS the job. Happy to apply if there are any lol! :o)

This is the appeal of working online, meaning you can work ANYWHERE and being in control of  not only your work but your lifestyle, which is the important one. Like they say, "you work to live, not live to work."

That is the dream of being able to make money online to me, to travel (take my sons too if they will) and capture more magical moments, everywhere, everyday and share them with you.

Portland Bill, the lighthouse and swings

Portland bill's famous lighthouse. Shame you never hear the fog horn anymore, some great memories of hearing that while laying in bed at the house in Weston street as a kid.

Visitors can climb up the stairs inside the lighthouse and have a look at the spectacular view from the top, not sure about times and days, so if that interest you, best to check it out beforehand...nevertheless just being here will put a smile on your face ... not to mention the sun on your back too.

Europe forced us to have new swings here, they are not even facing the right way anymore either...they are small compared to old ones we used to have here which faced south, the way I am facing taking this.

My son and my nieces, nephew all having fun here. Feel lucky to have grown up with this on our doorstep, and luckier our own kids have been able to enjoy summers out there too. Taking advantage of their nan and grandad having a beach hut out here. :o)

Portland Bill, the place to spend hot summer days

Yogi in a thirsty state, he had fun while me and my youngest brother Graeme took him and the kids and my youngest son out to Portland Bill, a go on the swings, a walk about and generally enjoying the sun!

The sky looked great out there too ...

We get clouds looking like this a fair bit through the summer here, some really interesting patterns too.

Hope you have a nice weekend enjoying the sun ... making the most of it really as it's not exactly known for it here in the UK. lol!

New Portland pictures

Just a quick one as I haven't been online much the last few days, I needed to get off my arse due to it getting a bit flat so went out and took some great pictures. Yesterday I bad migraine all day so did nothing but lay down.

Got the chance to sort out more of my pictures as shown here, these were taken just a few moments apart. These will be added to the new blog as mentioned in the last post on here.

Due to enjoying the sorting out of these I decided against getting online as it is a distraction at times, so much more productive without it. I started sorting out other things on the pc, found some PLR (private label articles) I can use. Re-arranged them to create my own unique articles and sorted them out.

Looks like enough for about 60 blog post. So I have now another blog to set up,feed these into it every other day. Should be 2 or 3 months worth with little effort, and the topic is a reasonable one too. :o)

Glad I did that.

That gives me a bit of a release to post more often here and the other blogs. As I can set that new blog up knowing I have the stuff to use. No effort really.

I could also create another lot of articles from mixing up the new ones, create a new set of post as they are on the same topic, theme.

It's one huge benefit from having PLR products. Not only can you get PLR articles, you could get PLR reports, ebooks, graphics, images, whatever you wanted really.

Beginners mistakes, but a new opportunity

Good news bad news.

If only I could do the one thing none of us can do...go back in time.  Sigh!

Not only with the fire on my pc did I lose lots of pictures and other things, I just realised many of the fantastic older pictures I did manage to save were useless, because I made that classic beginner mistake when I first took them.

That is, I re-sized the damn things for better use online, nothing wrong with that unless you do what I did...re-sized it then saved it, instead of saving a copy!

I must have cottoned on the second time I re-sized any pictures as I started saving as copies.

Shame I re-sized nearly 300 on that first effort! :o/ DOH!

Many like the one here are too small for big prints really, (maybe postcards) which is a shame as I have now quite a bit of interest and a few buyers for pictures in print.

Well that was the bad news lol...

The good...

Just means I will have to go out and reshoot some more eh. ;o)

I have had enough interest to start taking it seriously along with my blog here it is one thing I want to be doing. With that in mind I set up a new picture gallery blog which is still a work in progress, I will getting that finished this week then regularly add new pictures to it.

There are lots of pictures, some of which I will add to this gallery, you can already see on my shared picture album which is visible here.

Any thoughts on the new gallery blog?

A nice time of the year to see the sky here on portland, the pic here (click on it for larger version) is just behind my home.

Seems to be the sky is never the same twice, could be true of anywhere but it is so noticable here. :o)

Why we never tire of seeing or taking pictures of the sunset here.

Wouldn't you?

"A cracking house"

What a cracking house eh?

Just as the sign says...it's only going one way. ;o)

The crack runs down through the right hand side and through the windows, being the weak parts.

There is someone living in this and the refuse to move, even though it is unsafe.

Click the actual image for a bigger picture and take a closer look at this highly unstable house here on Portland.

This house has been bad for many years.

A beautiful sunset over chesil beach just as I was walking down the "incline", a steep straight path that leads from the top of the island to the bottom...pretty direct!

We all start at the bottom when we start out blogging, we all take it one post at a time. Everyting takes time and blogging is no different...

You may start off humbly like above... ;o)

With dreams of climbing that success ladder in the hope of something better and bigger.

One step at a time, if we all walk the steps we all take the same amount of steps...but a tip for new bloggers, the faster you start taking the steps, the better and I mean post as much as twice a day for the first few weeks to really get the pace going...before you know it you are half way there. ;o)

"Normal(ish), untill christmas"

The summer end is approaching but we are having some nice weather here, the kids are back in school, the usual routine again, and mums and dads everywhere breathe a sigh to catch their breath again. :o)

A chance to get a little time to themselves and plan ahead, prepare for the coming season changes, slowly. ;o)

A nice time to pop to the beach for a breather...

Spot the people?

And further around it goes...for 19 miles!!

Bring ya fishing rod and take your spot.
Plenty of room. ;o)

Beautiful eh?

Sept has hit us and now is the time to start planning what you have in store with your life, work, blogging.

You are planning to take advantage of seasonal things, aren't you? ;o)

Halloween comes up, Guy Fawkes, Christmas.

Do you add these to your plans?

Blog about what you can relating to you and your blogs topic, theme?

Planning early and planning well you can make the most of being seen when the time comes, being prepared with good articles, ideas, blog posts, contests and other angles can be a great boost, if you can keep the momentum going you have a great chance to improve the following ones, like Christmas. ;o)

While you take a breather, take time to also reflect on what you can add to the mix for the next few months. ;o)

Any thoughts?

"Portland and it's beauty"

I have had a busy day today with a new site I have set up that I hope you will all like.

If there is one thing about Portland here that sticks in most peoples minds once they visit it's the stunning views we have.

There really is nowhere quite like it.

With the amazing reach of the net we have it's great to find old friends online who lived here once and for them this is the perfect addition to their PC... ;o)

Take a look at it and see for yourself why it's the one of only world heritage sites in the UK. :o)

Click below...

Portland...

Back... hope you grabbed it at that crazy low price, which I am unsure if I will keep it that low for good so now is the best time if you are interested.

Something else, this shows you can always create a product from something...it doesn't have to be an ebook, software or anything others say you should create.

Why can't you create something similar to what I have here?

"Driftwood blog"

As previously mentioned I am going to be making some more driftwood products to sell, I will use ebay too.

I thought it would be an idea to set up a driftwood blog for all of the frames, which will be like a nice gallery.

Over time I hope people will be able to check things before buying which will help gain positive reputation on ebay and beyond.

Another option open to me is to take these to the local "holidaymakers" type of shops in town.

What do you think of the blog?
Any improvement ideas you can add?

Back...

And badly disapointed about the lack of service I have had from BT and Tiscali...who now OWE me money!

Bloody nightmare...what happened to "customer service"?

Long time gone that is I think.

Looking at my inbox not much has changed in the bubble that is IM,"Internet marketing" that is.
Nothing new there then, to nick Andy's phrase!
Good to back and able to at least communicate with the world again.

I am looking forward to getting things back on track, while also trying ideas I have out, like selling these great driftwood frames I have been making...all from Chesil beach.

This is 32 inch long by 13 inch high.

My head is all over the place since Kaya left and it is hard to focus on anything for longer than a minute!

During the last few weeks I had been going up to chesil beach and grabbing some driftwood to get creative.

Here is the mirror I already had in my bathroom, with some added touches, needs a few shells and bits adding yet but it's a start.

Got a big box of wood and I have some ideas to utilise them with, mirrors, pictures, alsorts!

"The Verne"

verne prison at portlandA forum user asked me if the well known "underground prison" was still here at Portland, which as you can see from the pictures is still in use.

This is an old prison, I know it was one of the hardest and highest categories at one time.

There is a tale I started reading one time in a quaint old book about this prison and it's prisoners, a man known as something like "crazy bill, wild man of Portland", or something like that!

Been some seriously crazy ones in there in the early end of the last century!

But...

Even in my childhood in the 70's it was a higher known and badder reputation than it is now.

Here are a few pictures of the Verne!

This first picture is looking at the entrance gate, you can see the prison shaped into the hill clearly here, on my immediate right is the bridge to it, as seen in the second picture.

the bridge view and the trench at verne prison This at literally the top of the island. The second picture also shows the "trench" that goes around the prison, very deep too.

As kids we used to say..."wow, you can imagine lions in there at one stage, like some Roman fortress this, they would eat one who dared escape!"

Even my sons had a laugh at that, but started adding there own little ideas into it... ;o)

view south of verne prison and trench
Gotta love the imagination!

The last picture is also taken from the same point as the other two.

Just a little to to the left so you can appreciate the depth of the prison and how it "fits" into the island, as well as that trench!

Quite high up here! :o)
