"Stumbleupon stats"
Stumbleupon DOES work and works very well. Here is a snapshot I have done of this blogs traffic when it is stumbled. :o)I have not worked out how to cut the the white space from the bottom of this using the paint program which I did this in, so if anyone can advise me there I would be grateful. :o)
As you can see over 600 hits to one post in one day, thank you stumblers, but each post that is stumbled gives an average of well over 200 hits in a day, JUST from stumbleupon that is.
I am very happy using stumbleupon, there it is, I USE it, not just join and hope!
Maki...of dosh dosh makes a great post on stumbleupon which you should check out, it's explained better than I could do it. :o)
Another great bonus to being a stumbler is you get to find some great blogs and sites you would otherwise never see.
Stumbleupon is much better than people assume it to be.
It is not hard to use, it has a great community that is very diverse.
If you like to stumble this post, go ahead. ;o)
If you have yet to utilise stumbleupon get cracking as you will enjoy it as well as reap the benefit of traffic.
Check out my profile on stumbleupon.
It is I think the best and fastest way to drive traffic to a newer blog.

"Blogrush?...um, well, it sucks"
Well I wrote earlier about blogrush and asked...why bother?A few days later and looking around it seems people think its sucks!
I couldn't say, I didn't have any idea what was happening with mine but now...
My stats have appeared in my blogrush dashboard.
A few things that bother me are...
- A very low click through rate, I also notice others say the same.
- No idea what widget on what blog people click on, to find my blog here, if any. :o)
- When the widget goes down temporarily, a blurb replaces it, but I feel this badly worded.
Addressing the concerns I have...
Low CTR rate....write better captivating titles...like the one used here. ;o)
I could do a search around to see if I can find out how to know which blogs widget drove me the visitor, this may well be part of the process being refined during the beta stage.
That blurb...Not happy with that, the wording had NO mention of blogrush, just saying this is temporarily down but the site will soon be fixed.
IF I was the reader I would have assumed it was the blog itself that was down, or that part of it at least.
NOT looking good doing that!
That blurb should be changed.
So, what about my opinion on if "it sucks"?
I think it's early to say, the traffic I have had from it is very small, almost nothing, of 660 impressions I got ONE click!
That's rubbish, I am GIVING more than GETTING with blogrush.
I will give it a week or less if things don't improve fast.
I know John will improve it, but how fast is the key.
It is pyramidal feeling, MLMY if you like, and yet it was the early adopters, Johns friends, inner circle, and the big influential bloggers that stand to benefit the most.
If you have a brand new blog, hardly any traffic I would skip it! ;o)
Whats your opinion?

"Thanks stumblers, for showing me"
Some fantastic pictures, blogs and more.Stumbleupon is great, I like using it and THAT is where it becomes good, when you use it. ;o)

Too many people sign up to this or that and just expect results, yet stumbleupon works for those who at least try it the way it should be used.
Not only have stumblers given me some good visits stats, they have shared some great stuff that I would otherwise NEVER have found.
The name says it all, use it and stumbleupon some great stuff.
The important part is to be active, review things well, post in the right categories and give a thumbs up! ;o)
Thanks stumblers, you are great.

"Blogrush! Why bother?"
Many of you will know about this by now as it's plastered all over the net, and yes it's on here too and I DO think if you have yet to add it to your blog you should. You can grab yours at blogrush. You want to add the code to your blog as soon as you can and for a good reason too.
So why ask why bother?
If this turns out to work as well as hoped it will be the mother of all the widgets, ;o) but also the chances of it being a success are made better because of the creator, John Reese.
If you know of John you know he knows traffic, how to get it and make the most of it.
There lies the reason you want this up as soon as possible, the fact is due to the big launch there is going to be tons of data that John and his team will utilise...so improving this as it grows.
More importantly you can get a better idea of what it does for your blog now, and as it improves you learn things from the info you saved.
Make no mistake John's own sites will have had MASSIVE traffic lately and THAT info is worth a huge amount, John knows what to do to make the most of it and YOU benefit from that.
I do think it will be a success and even if it's not I KNOW I will gain good information from it.
Knowing now what it does with your blog and what shows up now will mean you can take notes on what to filter as soon as able to, this then becomes the basis for your future testing as it improves from the admins tweaks.
You can then just keep improving what links you do want on your blog by way of blocking what you don't like, and filtering words you don't want.
That's why I got it now.
But also you will notice I am not promoting this elsewhere, just going to keep on blogging as normal, so I get a real idea of what it has done in the normal scheme of things. ;o)
Then I can test and tweak with better accuracy.
If you have a blog, grab your blogrush widget like you see on my sidebar here add it, see what you can learn from it over the next few weeks, if it works great, if not they will soon start getting removed. ;o)

"Social networking mastered"
Exciting times for you bloggers who actively use social networking, but only if you understand it and use it the right way.Web 2.0 was what I had been eagerly waiting for, being deaf you can probably understand why. ;o)
Being a blogger meant it never passed me by, as blogging was part of interactivity (web.2.0) before the phrase web 2.0 was even coined, yet now it is making a big difference to my blogs, as well as me. ;o)
Believe it or not there are still lots of people who don't know what web 2.0 even means, or have yet to even hear of it.
Web 2.0 = better interactivity. ;o)
Using web 2.0 (social sites, etc) is the best thing you can possibly start doing if you are a blogger or website owner, after all you are already a part of it. ;o)
In my eyes the best way to get traffic to your blog, more so if it's a new blog is using the power of social networking, bookmarking sites etc.
Maximise what you have before getting more traffic and you get to make the most of the new traffic too, yes?
That's what I have been doing, and it works for me well, so now I started to think of ways to increase my traffic.
So I had a great surprise when I grabbed this new report, book, pdf, whatever label you give it and this book just reinforced the fact what I am already doing is the right things in the right way, but I can still do better... ;o)
While I already knew a fair bit of what this shares, (being a blogger almost 4 years made sure of that), it gave me new angles to look at what I already do and plan to do.
These new angles I can promise you will make a big difference to what I had planned anyway...great to see your own plans and ideas from another angle...it expands it. ;o)
While some people will look at things from a "will this make me more money" angle, the key to everything online is traffic, and more traffic can mean more money, right? ;o)
To me the traffic increase is what most people need, even if no intention to monetise that traffic is there, people still want more readers, right?
Of course, so I recommend everyone grab this report, read it and master it. ;o)
The biggest thing I can say is I KNOW it works because I have had success with it and I KNOW web.2.0 is what you should learn more about, even if you have no blog yet.
You are online, you use web 2.0!
Grab it, share your thoughts in the comments. ;o)

"One way links from here"
As you will know by now one way links are great to help your page rank improve. One way ones are even better especially for newer blogs that need to get the exposure as quickly as possible.
One way anchor links are even better again yet may only point to certain post you have done, so if this is your route pick you best post in which you have the best chance of gaining a reader who will come back later or at least bookmark your blog.
To this end how can I help you which will also help me?
Well this is my 197th post so I had considered making my 200th one a great list of on way links to your blog.
BUT there is a dilemma, I do not want everyone posting just expecting a link back, as this is not how I value my blog, its NOT a link farm is it. ;o)
So... I got thinking, instead of having just a link, how about I make it a link with a short 30 word blurb of your choice?
Like a bio box style set up.
Getting a one way link from some places will cost you a fair bit, so I thought I would go one better and charge everyone a single dollar, or a single pound, whatever you prefer, those who are smart will know which to use. ;o)
So here's the plan, I will do a blog post, as long as need be on my 200th, which will solely promote your blogs, if this appeals to you, just buy me a beer today using the icon below, and then comment on this post saying you have bought and want this bargain one way anchor link.
I will then give you my email addy to send your blurb, I will post these on the blog in the ORDER I get payments...;o)
So be quick and get yours on the top of the post! ;o)
Any thoughts, comments, or takers?

"Article traffic"
Writing articles is yet great another great way to gain extra traffic with the added bonus of having a longer term effect if others use your articles.By far the best way is to use "long tail" keywords relating to your blog, site topic.
For an example lets say you have a "dog related" blog, you have tips for training, breeding and other general dog related topics.
Your general keywords may be...
Dog
Dogs
Dog training
Dog breeding
Breeding dogs
Training dogs
These are termed "short tail" in the sense they are broad search terms, these are the keywords every "dog related" site or blog will target, rightly so too. ;o)
But using longer tail keywords can gain a big advantage for you in the sense others may not target them, and you have less competition by targeting these terms.
For example...
Training dogs the right way
Dog training and breeding
Dog training for new owners
Training dogs for beginners
Training German shepherds < This could be changed for all other breeds. ;o)
Buying my first dog
Dog training at home
House training dogs
The new dog breeder
Etc... you see that these are longer terms, more in line with what people will search for too. ;o)
Writing articles that target these terms will bring in a "long tail traffic stream", meaning you get this traffic long after you do the article. ;o)
With less articles targeting the same keywords as you you have a better chance to capitalise on the traffic coming in.
You really should add articles to your plans for they are an "evergreen" form of traffic, use a good bio at the bottom of each pointing to your blog and watch the traffic build up.
Another twist for you is to capitalise on linking the articles together, so one could be linked using anchor linking as a better SEO plan for your blog traffic.
For example you do an article called "Dog training at home", which is a basic one for all dogs and dog owners, posting this to an article database, but you can have this linking to another blog post titled "Dog breeds and training" where a list of breeds of dog and training methods for each is laid out nicely for all traffic from the first article... ;o)
So your anchor link in the first article bio will be...
www. whateversitename.com/dog_breeds_and_training < that's the second articles title...
IE... an anchor link. ;o)
A post with a short blurb and a link to each breed and training article you have on the blog.
Do you think these people will click on the breed specific article you have for them?
What's more you can add affiliate links or AdSense on each post of the second articles list.
That's the way to do articles I think. :o)
If you think it's hard think again, it's made easy with the fantastic article ebook done by a friend, which is a crazy bargain and what's more, you can add a twist to the above method to gain buyers of this very book and make a profit. ;o)
How?
Do an article on how you write articles very easy on "dog training" and how other dog lovers can also start a blog on their new dog...
Have your anchor link to a post specifically teaching others how to start their "dog blog" with your ebook link at the bottom for them to get started with. ;o)
One sale and you got a great article book free!

"Shocking stats"
So over the last few weeks I have been getting back into the swing of things nicely and moving swiftly in the right direction, that's down to a few things.Blogging by it's nature has ups and downs with posting, at times it can't be resolved as with my case.
Losing momentum was a key area for me and I believe it is an important thing with building a blog and giving the readers what they want...content.
During the offline hassle the blogs visitors dipped alot, naturally.
Now a month on, the blog's traffic has gone right back up to almost 3000 for July. :o)
Pleasing to say the least.
Averaging 100 a day is not to be sneezed at really.
Not my best month but still a good month and there is a week left yet.
Great to know at least you are happy to read the blog, thanks.
The bad side of the stats which surprised me was the fact the response to my offer in the post below was not as good as hoped, but not as bad as can be.
Well over 300 visitors in 3 days...to that blog post and 11 takers.
I can't believe it really, a service that will help you if you play your role and be 100% honest to yourself is not taken up, they miss the potential, yet...
If I had offered an ebook that was ok and you learnt things yet it just sat on your hard drive gathering dust it would have been snapped up by more people?!
Especially newbies who suffer lack of focus more than most.
Yet it did nothing to change things, because you read it and did nothing.? Wasted money.
Yet with my offer you would have HAD to take action or you would be wasting the money joining in the first place.
If you took NO action with with mine, fine...you are in the same position as you are AFTER buying the book....wasted money.
Strange this, so it's leading me to question alot of things.
Any opinions on this?

P.s Warriors...would it help to offer you a free warrior way book after you join?
I am going to revamp it and you as well as others who have bought will also get the upgraded version free. If so... buy the offer as below, use beer function and you will get a copy!
If that is good enough for you, do it, then email me to warriors+deafdad AT gmail.com

"How to create a successful blog"
I am annoyed, I have been at this blogging lark a few years now, almost 4!I won't say I am an expert, I know what I know though, and it's got me this far. ;o)
BUT I could have done so many things so much better and now I would have a much better situation for it.
It's never to late to change things and that's a wonderful thing about blogs...you can change and update things.
What if I had done it all the right way right off the bat though!?
I would be earning a full time living from blogging I reckon. ;o)
There are some things I have missed, you may ask how I know now what it is I missed.
I just read something that really opened my eyes and it cost me BUGGER all! ;o)
Bargain...and priceless learning for me.
The funny thing is I have blogged almost twice as long as the author...damn I need to pay more attention! :o)
That's not to say I should know more, just that you never know who you will learn things from.
If only I had the blueprint when I started blogging!
Grab it free and read it whether you are new or seasoned at blogging, even better if you have yet to start.
Imagine you implemented all this into your blogs from day 1?
At least I know every new blog I do will have a better chance of success.
Also you may see big and small changes around here. ;o)
For me this fantastic book joined alot of the dots as well as highlighted the small things that would have better influenced the bigger things.
I will be taking more notice of page 13, which will of course set the tone for the rest of the blog!
I also will capitalise more on page 25, which I do already but underestimated it a fair bit. ;o)
If I had done chapter 25 better, then I would be feeling the real effects of pages 26, 27...which would mean 28 would have been explosive!
Grab it read it, and make sure you are NOT on page 48!
Utilise this fantastic blueprint.
I am glad I read this and would go as far as saying this IS the best free resource on blogging you will find.

"Is John Reese a scammer"
That was the unbelievable question I was aksed in an email.I will not say their name as they asked me in confidence.
I obviously don't want to abuse the trust that got them asking me.
The email went to explain how they felt as I show myself to be honest on the forums etc so felt they could ask me and trust me.
Thats great, I am grateful for that trust.
Ok... so I asked them what they meant?
This is the gist of it.
Hi mate,
Sorry about this but I am fairly new to all this and hear alot about John Reese and wondered if the guy is trustworthy, is he a scammer?
Should I listen to him or not?
I see his new site is giving everything away free.
How the hell does he make money doing that?
Something seems to be making me feel that we are not getting the whole picture.
Thanks... xxxx (thats not KISSES, but removal of the name) ;o)
Ok...
I have NO idea how this operson found John or his site, I am guessing through a forum or newsletter link.
I replied to them in email and told them I would also make a post here about this.
Is John a scammer?
No I 100% do not think he is anything like that at all.
Having been on his list and known him online for a while I would say he his one to watch if you want to learn anything about making strides online.
Lets face it John has gone further down this road than 99% of us.
He KNOWS what he is talking about when it comes to online marketing and making money.
He has always given value for free. Yes his new site is giving tons of info free and will help you make strides if that is what you want to do, one thing you must remember is no matter what you will STILL have to put the effort and work in to succeed.
It don't fall on your lap.
Regarding asking how will he make money being free.
Lets be honest John don't NEED the money no more, he has already made millions, he will always have a residual income from all the hard work he has ALREADY done.
If you want millions you will need to put that hard work in too.
But this new site will STILL make him money, how?
Traffic, loyal readers who then get on his list who trust him enough to buy his products when he does release them.
Give freely and people will come back for more, no?
I see it as John is already quite an authourity in this "making money online" arena so it makes sense for him to create the ultimate free authourity site.
So should you listen to him? Yes.
Is he a scammer? NO.
Are you seeing the whole picture? Probably not, John is the only one who sees that.
I hope that the reply was helpful to the sender of the email.
I hope it also gives anyone reading this a clearer picture if you wondered about him too.
I am in no way connected to John so gain nothing from him telling you this.
I answered this because the asker deserved my honest opinion.
If you want to ask me something then great, do so.
If you feel generous you can tip me by buying me a beer by clicking the beer icon below.

"Link love"
Lets talk about linking and why it's the basis of the "global conversation" which is the net, blogging is a big part of that global conversation.Link love is the act of linking out to something you like, something you want to share. Smart linking can explode your traffic as well as give your readers something extra.
Tagging is what I call a form of link love, you will only tag to those you feel your readers will appreciate, people who you like and respect.
I recently tagged Michel Fortin with the "5 things tag" that went around the blogosphere, this did boost my traffic quite a bit.
See what I did there?
There is another benefit to linking, internal linking which is linking to an older post on your own blog. Why does this benefit me? Not only does it lead you the reader back to an older post it will also be picked up by the search engines.
It was also an anchor text link, I used the keywords instead of "click here" which is a very important part of gaining page rank due to relevance, no one searches for "click here", they will search for "5 things" tag which will show all the blogs who were a part of the "5 things" tag.
Anchor text links will always be an important part of your linking strategy and you should utilise it, whether it's a link to an older post or to another blog.
"Link bait" is not a term I really like but it is a part of linking. Some people do this in various different ways but do it for ONE reason, to get others linking to them, or at least talking about them.
People will check links to them and see the bait, it will work or it wont, depending on the reaction of the person baited.
For an example I could "bait" with something controversial like saying "Brian Clark LOVES link baiting"... :o)
How will he know I did that? By checking his stats he will see you go to HIS site via the link bait link as I just did and possibly come here, read this and SCOWL at me on his blog! Who knows what he will do, most likely NOTHING but laugh at me!
As I say it's just an example of how people do this, some do it very well.
Linking should be a big part of your blogging, after all it's a conversation, conversation's that are one way are pretty boring wouldn't you agree?
Linking is spreading the word about other people.
Linking is adding to your content, it can even be viral which is good marketing.
Gonna link to this post? ;o)
Take care,

"One step at a time"

Will get you ANYWHERE!
No one jumps straight to success...it takes hard work, time, learning, applying, tweaking, testing.
So much more than an ebook can tell you.
Don't make the common mistake of buying into this or that, then jumping to something else when you feel it "don't work", the truth is everything needs work, work at making things work.
Once you get ONE thing working, then move onto the next thing.
ONLY if it helps your work though, don't jump on it for the sake of jumping on it!
Nothing just happens itself.
Taking action is the key.
If you are really wanting to get moving, start with articles.
This will mean you have REAL content.
The beauty of this article report is you can add the link to your blog, lens, and get your money back and more just for sharing it.
Each article is a funnel for your traffic, have somewhere to lead that traffic though, like a blog, or a squidoo lens.
But...
One step at a time eh!
The thing is once you start taking the steps you are definately nearer to your success.
Once you have a momentum going you can jog to your success.
Till then...learn to walk one step at a time!
YOUR success awaits you!

"Making money online" Pt 2
**Continued from last post.I asked if you recognised it...if you're involved in IM (Internet marketing), then you may well guess the "dream sellers" would have sold them the basic info I gave in the last post, with some filler fluff!
Shame on them...they got easy money, yet in this scenario, the "Harley nut" would feel let down, not knowing the "how to do" part.
There is nothing they can get from it, apart from the buzz of wanting to act on it...yep, been sold the sizzle!
Then he most likely will think less of the seller, feel ripped off!
Shame...short term profits for the seller AND a bad rep.
NOT the way you want to go.
This is exactly what is going on out there.
There is hardly anything that also shows you the "how".
Not to mention the fact the sellers of the dreams couldn't give a toss about you, they already have your money!
In this scenario what would I have done?
Well the first thing would be to grab this for the scripts, you will need them later.
I would have given them a plan of action to add to it, one they can do or learn to do.
In this case, create or edit a video just to show you ten tips on basic Harley maintenance.
"Ten tips to maintain your Harley and save service fees!"
Something like that, told him to stick it on eBay, as a limited to X amount box set of videos, relevant auction, ie Harley Davidson must be in the title, then post in the right section.
This way it's "fast boost cash" to carry on with the plan.
While the eBay auction is going, tell them to set up a simple blog at blogger.com, where you post pictures, write a bit about the pictures, post every other day at least once for the first few weeks, have the link to your blog on your eBay home page, have the blog called something related, like...
Home-built-Harley-Davidson.blogspot.com
It's clear what it's about.
Should have sold the videos and have cash coming to keep on building.
Now add other videos to blog and start building your Harley network.
The blog is up, it's simple enough for them to carry on with, post videos to it via youtube or myspace, posting a funny or viral video will help by spreading fast.
Set up a myspace page related to Harley's.
All the while there is a link back to your blog.
The first few weeks should be interesting enough to them to keep the work effort up, if you have a passion, like this person with the Harley's, it's not work...it's fun and more learning.
They should be getting a few keen hungry visitors, "fans" so to speak, "Harley fans" to be precise, a targeted market.
The next advice I would offer them is to visit Harley forums, read up on threads, see what problems and issues they talk about, you may have answers in either your head, or on a video.
Get involved in a subtle yet informative and helpful way.
Use a sig link if you are allowed pointing back to your blog.
Build relationships, you have something in common with them all.
All the plan is now is to set up "funnels" for the traffic you get and maximise it.
Next would be to set up a keyword related squidoo lens, probably the easiest site builder out there, have your blog feed linked to it, or just a normal link if feeds baffle you.
Write up a few good articles and post a few good pictures.
These should be good to keep you busy, update them often keep on reading the forums, you can resell more videos on eBay to keep cash flow coming in.
After the confidence grows and you know you will keep on keeping on...
Next would be to get a domain and hosting, domain should have related keywords, ie... Self-built-harleys.com for example.
Time to set up a site to sell you videos and other related things, ie affiliate products from Harley companies etc.
Should you know little about building a site, set it up using a template, or even using blogger or similar blogging software.
By now a month will have gone by, and you will have a few funnels of traffic set up, start getting some reasonable traffic from these as well as regular readers coming back.
You will also have started building solid relationships with "like minded people".
THAT is taking action, that is doable, that brings results.
Not so hard really, just take it one step at a time, yet start off with what's EASY.
Doing what you know and have passion for is EASY, setting up a blog is EASY.
Once you have started it will get easier and grow faster.

"Recycled Content"
So, you took my advice and grabbed one of the top $7 "reports" recently released I recommended here, articles! You created some good content to post to one of the article database, or better to your blog or website. This is what builds your "Virtual real estate" aka "sellable businesses" up, good content.
Content is king... or at least prince!
If prince, the king could be anchoured text links...that's for another post, should you want to hear it.
But don't stop there, re-use your content as much as you can, build other uses, set up as blog content, newsletter snippet content, adword preseller content, ezine ads, etc etc...the list goes on.
Free reports to build your list, content affiliates can use to presell your products.
So many ways.
Change your mindset to realise who you REALLY are, and go for it!
Even use some of your content to create your own $7 reports, give others the big incentive to spread your work and build your list! If you have yet to get the scripts needed, go ahead and grab them when you get the $7 report.
Do you have un-used blog post, or articles?
Ones you have done, or redone from PLR that you have not used?
Content has so many benefits, it's used to get traffic, repeat traffic, links, google page rank, better search position, better authority...etc
More than I can think of.
Extend your feeder traffic by breaking down what you have to slightly create a wider section of the larger market, persuade them into narrowing into your funnel market. ;o)
Try creating a bonus viral aspect right into it.
The content you spread itself is by virtue, viral.
This is what you should be doing with all that great content you create....again you CAN create it too.
I am going to be doing just that, re-using what I create.
