Just a quick post…

Enjoying the last of the good weather over the end of the summer and the nice sunsets it reminded me of some of the pictures I have, that are worthy of dressing walls…  I think so, anyway.

So, I am sorting that out and hoping to see some grace your walls… Taste permitting, of course.

A simple gallery page added to this site, or even the Portland Bill one, or both, would probably do the job nicely, so that’s on the “to do” list now, having found a good printers to get things rolling, all depends on who it turns out but it’s something I would like to do more of. Can ya blame me, living here?

The sizes will vary, just need to get that organised.

Some will be limited … a certain number in a certain size.

More importantly though…

I need to make it as hands free as possible, that is automate it as much as I can allowing me to get on with other things, like writing for the blogs and marketing it all.

The key is to get it to the point where it’s 100% automated, after all, that’s better for me allowing me more time to just get great pictures, knowing the pictures are still being sold, delivered and people are happy.

I won’t just limit it to pictures for walls though, I think it’s worth using one of the many services out there which allow you to add pictures to lot’s of different apparel, mugs, t-shirts, hooded tops, table-mats, mouse mats, fridge magnets, even aprons …  that sort of thing.

It may well make some nice Christmas presents for someone you know.

That’s the next thing for the “to-do” list. Keep an eye out for that update…

WPress!

As I mentioned in a recent post, I have updated this blog to the latest WPress 3.0 and if you haven’t yet noticed a difference reading this you will when you click that link, then come back here.

Spot it?

The header image at the top is different and something I have tried doing with scripts in the past, never getting it quite right. WPress 3.0 allows it with a simple click, so maybe you will see different header images on here from now on.

Not always, just sometimes if I fancy adding one, it does get me thinking about sorting out a big batch of images to use for this purpose. It also gets me thinking more on moving my other Portland blog onto WPress again too.

This is why I strive to make money online, so I can travel and capture magic moments I live, luckily I do live in a gorgeous place that allows me to share moments like this with you.

Isn’t that what life’s about, having magical moments?

This is where I live so it cost nothing to enjoy this and share it, yet for you it may cost money to come here and have the same. Likewise with me having to pay to experience it elsewhere.

Regardless …

The best things in life are free … there is so much emphasis on the money and not what magic it can give you, if you choose it that is. ;o)

A friend had just been to America on a road trip from west to east and shared some stunning pictures on his facebook page, that’s what I would like to do, get out there and capture the moments, post them here or another specific blog for that and do that constantly.

You can’t do that with a “job” unless that IS the job. Happy to apply if there are any lol! )

This is the appeal of working online, meaning you can work ANYWHERE and being in control of  not only your work but your lifestyle, which is the important one. Like they say, “you work to live, not live to work.”

That is the dream of being able to make money online to me, to travel (take my sons too if they will) and capture more magical moments, everywhere, everyday and share them with you.

Portland bill’s famous lighthouse. Shame you never hear the fog horn anymore, some great memories of hearing that while laying in bed at the house in Weston street as a kid.

Visitors can climb up the stairs inside the lighthouse and have a look at the spectacular view from the top, not sure about times and days, so if that interest you, best to check it out beforehand…nevertheless just being here will put a smile on your face … not to mention the sun on your back too.

Europe forced us to have new swings here, they are not even facing the right way anymore either…they are small compared to old ones we used to have here which faced south, the way I am facing taking this.

My son and my nieces, nephew all having fun here. Feel lucky to have grown up with this on our doorstep, and luckier our own kids have been able to enjoy summers out there too. Taking advantage of their nan and grandad having a beach hut out here. )

Yogi in a thirsty state, he had fun while me and my youngest brother Graeme took him and the kids and my youngest son out to Portland Bill, a go on the swings, a walk about and generally enjoying the sun!

The sky looked great out there too …

We get clouds looking like this a fair bit through the summer here, some really interesting patterns too.

Just a quick one as I haven’t been online much the last few days, I needed to get off my arse due to it getting a bit flat so went out and took some great pictures. Yesterday I bad migraine all day so did nothing but lay down.

Got the chance to sort out more of my pictures as shown here, these were taken just a few moments apart. These will be added to the new blog as mentioned in the last post on here.

Due to enjoying the sorting out of these I decided against getting online as it is a distraction at times, so much more productive without it. I started sorting out other things on the pc, found some PLR (private label articles) I can use. Re-arranged them to create my own unique articles and sorted them out.

Looks like enough for about 60 blog post. So I have now another blog to set up,feed these into it every other day. Should be 2 or 3 months worth with little effort, and the topic is a reasonable one too. )

Glad I did that.

That gives me a bit of a release to post more often here and the other blogs. As I can set that new blog up knowing I have the stuff to use. No effort really.

I could also create another lot of articles from mixing up the new ones, create a new set of post as they are on the same topic, theme.

It’s one huge benefit from having PLR products. Not only can you get PLR articles, you could get PLR reports, ebooks, graphics, images, whatever you wanted really.

Good news bad news.

If only I could do the one thing none of us can do…go back in time.  Sigh!

Not only with the fire on my pc did I lose lots of pictures and other things, I just realised many of the fantastic older pictures I did manage to save were useless, because I made that classic beginner mistake when I first took them.

That is, I re-sized the damn things for better use online, nothing wrong with that unless you do what I did…re-sized it then saved it, instead of saving a copy!

I must have cottoned on the second time I re-sized any pictures as I started saving as copies.

Shame I re-sized nearly 300 on that first effort! / DOH!

Many like the one here are too small for big prints really, (maybe postcards) which is a shame as I have now quite a bit of interest and a few buyers for pictures in print.

Well that was the bad news lol…

The good…

Just means I will have to go out and reshoot some more eh. ;o)

I have had enough interest to start taking it seriously along with my blog here it is one thing I want to be doing. With that in mind I set up a new picture gallery blog which is still a work in progress, I will getting that finished this week then regularly add new pictures to it.

There are lots of pictures, some of which I will add to this gallery, you can already see on my shared picture album which is visible here.

Any thoughts on the new gallery blog?

A nice time of the year to see the sky here on portland, the pic here (click on it for larger version) is just behind my home.

Seems to be the sky is never the same twice, could be true of anywhere but it is so noticable here. )

Why we never tire of seeing or taking pictures of the sunset here.

Church Ope Cove, a place we spent many a summer when we were kids, not being far from where we lived and with it being the realtively “safer 70s” in some peoples eyes it was a great place to be.
