WP 3.0 is out... 🙂

Missing in action… me that is. 😉

Seems that wordpress have released the newest version, 3.0 which was a nice surprise to see when I finally got online… and logged in!

As you can guess, I updated it to the wordpress 3.0. 😀

So, just to see what it was like and how the basic new theme (twenty ten) works out, what works with it etc… I know it’s “lame” to use the standard themes! … but I don’t worry about that, after all it’s just a theme and it works, pretty well too. 😉

Anyway…
I am not one to needlessly spend money on themes, which I think is like throwing money away most of the time, after all it’s not an essential need to most of us, unlike the real important thing, yeah I’ve seen people spending money on a theme and not even owning the damn site/blog it’s on! 😉

That’s crazy if you ask me, not sure you asked though 😆

I will give this look a go and see what the new wordpress 3.0 is like for a while, if you are a WP user, what do you think of it if you are using it?

What about this blog I ask you readers, is the change ok for you here? Anything you don’t like?

Twenty-Ten seems to be the hottest buzz around the block. I’ve tried or rather just started using wp 3.0 4 days ago — knowing that I’m a joomla guy — I was just intrigued by wordpress lately, since they are more stylish in terms of themes and plugins, and I think I’ll be using wordpress for now.

And since I’m new with the platform, I came across with a very embarrassing problem, well actually with joomla this one is an easy part, but with wp it’s taking me days to resolve this one. I’m actually having some problems with wp 3.0’s “SEO friendly urls” (through localhost, wampserver specifically). since I can’t access wp’s .htaccess with this, I tried creating a new one. I also tried installing “canonical url plugin” and used /%postname%/ for the customized permalink, and all seems to only cause a broken link to all pages. Kind of frustrating at first.

Anyway, any advise on this one? 🙂 Thanks Rob!

    Regards,
    Jason

      Hi Jason,

As I am not that familiar myself with WPress, I am not really sure, feel bad for that too. 🙁 … sorry… I had some great help from Andy @ http://andybeard.eu who does know his stuff… he may now see this comment if that link gets clicked. 😉

Thanks Rob! I’ll try to ask Andy about it.

@Justin. Thanks 🙂 I have thought of that, it’s just that I was in a hurry, and I was worrying that it may take time for people to respond to my question. That’s why I’ve just searched for articles relating to it. But anyway, I’ll certainly do that this time.

I like it too, though I am probably not using it to it’s fullest potential, not sure what the potential really is on this. Thought 2.9 was good. 🙂

I just wanted to leave a quick comment to say that your blog was nice. I found it on google search after going through a lot of other information that was not really relevant. I thought I would find this much earlier considering how good the information is.

Thanks for that, Just one thing I should tell you, I edited your keyword thing to add your name, not being funny but I CLEARLY ask people to use it this way, as seen under where you comment and have to say, either people use it properly or not at all, hope you can understand from my point?

Can I ask, what were you “searching” for when you found this blog?
