I agree w/ you on this. Twitter is a social thing, but I see it as something else, really. You not only build relationships, but have the opportunity to learn and help others. I wouldn't use it for anything else. I send a tweet when I update my blog, and that is my "marketing efforts." Good post, mate!

I absolutely love Twitter– I consider it my virtual watercooler.

I do get annoyed by some who only post links to their blog and have nothing else to share–that gets old quick and keeps me from going to see their content.

Great article! I love twitter, but at times it can be frustrating when someone just bombards you with marketing and that’s it! I don’t mind a marketing link here and there, but I like being about to interact with people as well. That’s why I twitter! TWEET. TWEET

I thought it was so totally cool that, when there was an earthquake recently in California, I knew about it first before any of the news agencies because I Twitter. Then I was innundated with the Twitter spammers who were just trying to push their product/porn/marketing ideas. I ry to delete them as fast as possible, but it is just a fact of life, if there is a communication medium out there, someone will find a way to take advantage of it for their own gain. Stupid Twits!

Yeah it is good for marketing....depneding on HOW you market, thats the point.

The geek in me registered with Twitter. I realised shortly afterwards that it was an invaluable tool for keeping up to date on what mattered to me. I’ve followed and “unfollowed” so many people as the technology I use and my interests change. Spammers have no place for me. They add, I remove. Simple as that. We have the power, and if we stick together they’ll go away.

As for me, it’s a blog. Quick, simple and concise. I jot what I feel when I feel I want to jot. )

Great article, nicely put.
You can use twitter for marketing but please don’t spend all your time just posting “sales” links you will look boring and anti-social.
This is a place for people to also get to know the person behind the “machine”

I think Twitter is great for marketing, but it brings out the best in marketers. It’s totally opt-in and transparent. People buy from people they know and trust, what better way to build connections and trust than this powerful platform?
